Dear Ones,
Have you ever been sick and tired of being sick and tired? As we move into the month of July we are invited to more deeply explore our beliefs and experiences of health as we acknowledge that Spirit is calling us to Activate Healing in our lives. Healing is the very essence of our philosophy for New Thought was founded by people who were looking for a better life now. Dis-ease is not natural and cannot be part of our permanent identity. There is no power in the Universe perpetuating disease or using it to teach us lessons. When we realize that the Intelligence that created us is perfect and could only create us in Its image and likeness, we realize the absurdity of feeling that God is teaching us a lesson through disease.
In the book, Healers on Healing, Joan Borysenko writes: "The message that underlies healing is simple yet radical. We are already whole. Underneath our fears and worries, unaffected by the many layers of our conditioning and actions, is a peaceful core. The work of healing is in peeling away the barriers of fear that keep us unaware of our true nature of love, peace, and rich interconnection with the web of life. Healing is the rediscovery of who we are and who we have always been."
Rediscovering the real essence of you leads us directly into August and allows the Spirit within us to Activate Honesty. Socrates said, "To thy own self be true." In order to activate honesty, we first will look at self-honesty.
In her book, Loving What Is, Byron Katie writes: "I wasn't always able to live the advice that I so generously held out for others to live. When I realized this, I found myself on equal ground with the people I had judged. I saw that my philosophy wasn't so easy for any of us to live. I saw that we're all doing the best we can. This is how a lifetime of humility begins."
I believe that we will grow together in true humility and love as we activate honesty in our lives. I have heard the adage, "You are only as sick as your secrets." Activating honesty in our lives will propel us out of shame and into self-acceptance and self-love.
You are made in the image and likeness of God. I love you just the way you are.
Love,
Heather
