Wednesday's Wisdom

Stop! And Smell the Roses!

Rev. Judee Chapman, Assistant Minister

It's springtime and Life is bursting forth all around us in Beauty and Bliss! As Dr. Ernest Holmes says in The Science of Mind textbook, "Because we are created as spontaneous individuals by God, the seed of freedom is planted in the innermost being of us but it is up to each of us to discover and nurture the seed."

So this is the season to rid ourselves of the weeds of false beliefs and thoughts that no longer serve our highest good. Now is the time to plant the seeds of Understanding, Beauty, Peace and Harmony in our hearts so that the garden of our mind blooms in Love.

A perfect venue to nurture your New Thought 'seeds' is the mid-week service on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. There you will find wonderful people, inspiring speakers, sacred meditation, and much more. You are magnificent! Express it! Just like the "roses" you stop to enjoy along your spiritual path.

Membership continues to grow and our light continues to grow brighter. I am looking for five more members to light the light at the membership table

This volunteer job is the best one, because you get to share yourself with new visitors and hand out gifts!

In 45 minutes a month, I can't think of a better way to light up your life than to light up someone else's life. Am I talking to you??? You are the ONE.

Give me a call and let me know if you would like to be on my membership team.

I love you.

New Name - Same Spiritual Center

Pamela Rocke, Newsletter Editor

Center for Spiritual Living

"The more things change, the more they stay the same." Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr (1849) French Journalist & Author

Amidst the gentle process of integration of United Centers for Spiritual Living and Religious Science International, our own spiritual family is mirroring a part of this quest.

By what name shall we be called? After a month of quiet reflection, members of our family came together in a Town Hall Meeting, March 29, to discuss, compare notes and ultimately explore a consensus.

Several thoughts surfaced, a few included geographical denominators. But all included, "Center for Spiritual Living." This most likely will be the name our parent organization, Religious Science International, chooses for itself. Many Science of Mind centers have adopted it. And now, with the overwhelming appreciation of our own spiritual family, we are known as the Center for Spiritual Living.

We still practice the Science of Mind and Affirmative Prayer. We still reveal the Truth and use the Law. Our name is new, and yet it deeply reflects our beliefs and practices. Now for the first time, we become accessible to like-minded folks who may have negative cognitions or experiences with "religion," "science" or "church." We welcome all people, all spiritual paths - that will never change.

Youth Church

Pattie Mercado, Youth Church Director

Summer Day Camp

Youth church is more than just Sunday childcare during the adult service. It is more than the crafts or even the lesson. It is the place our young people meet, connect and build friendships in our spiritual community. It is where we teach, learn and model living the Principle. Youth Church is a fun and rewarding place for volunteers to connect with the youth of our community and be of service. It is a place where growth occurs within everyone who participates and all are welcome.

Our youth church is a growing and expanding with volunteer opportunities on Sunday and during the week. If you would like to add your energy to our program please contact Pattie Mercado.

If You Have a Longing to Serve...

Rev. Alene Kramer, Assistant Minister

The Center for Spiritual Living (Capistrano Valley Church of Religious Science) honors all paths to God. We believe each of us has our own way of contacting that which is within.

If you have a longing to serve, to deepen your awareness of all that you are, follow your heart and be what it is you want to see in your life, serving others in your Spiritual family, saying hello to visitors, and making sure everyone feels the loving energy our center radiates, I have an idea for you.

If you are searching for more, if you are searching for a way to say thank for all you receive, I have an idea for you. Selfless Loving service is one of the most profound ways I know to express gratitude.

Please contact Rev. Alene Kramer if you think you might be interested in following the path of SEVA, selfless loving service. You may also reach me by telephone 949.496.7810.

Blessings to you all.
